Only a couple of days away until the inaugural Marrickville Children’s Festival!

Our team has been busy planning and organising Marrickville’s first Children’s Festival which will be held on Saturday 31 March at Marrickville West Primary School from 10.30am til 4pm. We hope you can join us for another great day full of fun activities for the whole family.

The Children’s Festival is one of the largest and most unique celebrations of multiculturalism for children in Australia.

Last year we celebrated our 13th Bankstown Children’s Festival at Bankstown City Paceway, 178 Eldridge Rd, Bankstown. Around 10,000 people braved the cold weather and joined us for some fun and games. The costumes worn in the Children’s Parade, performances on stage including Bankstown’s TAP performers, kite flying, the NSW Community Relations Commission sponsored photo-essay competition and table tennis competition were the major highlights of the day.

Our third Canterbury Children’s Festival was also a great success, with beautiful weather and some more wonderful entertainment and activities at Harcourt Public School, First Avenue, Campsie from 10-6pm! We were joined by Channel 9′s Magical Tales on stage from 10am and more exciting performances throughout the day.

We showcased different cultural traditions, costumes, dances, performances, songs, lion dancing, drumming workshops and shared our traditional and delicious foods with one another.

There were lots of exciting activities this year including scout activities, lantern making, costume parades, arts and craft activities, rides, animal petting zoo and more.
